online identity

The age that we are living in everything is based on technology and most of the way that we communicate is through computers. Computers have helped revolutionize our everyday lives from the way we get information to even doing work for school. Just like everything there is a disadvantage to everything even if it seems like it is perfect and nothing can go wrong, because with the internet you can stand a chance of either losing your identity or even worse being a victim of cyber bullying. The articles have helped me see how easy it can be to push somebody over the edge and that can cause a situation even worse because with all these different social networks you do not know if the person who ask to be your friend is who they actually say they are.


Almost everybody in the world belongs to a social network online whether it’s Facebook, MySpace, or even a dating site. When a young person decided to set up a profile they are then giving a decision to set their profiles to private or let everybody see what they have posted or written about themselves online. Setting your profile to private could make it seem easy to protect yourself from strangers however anybody can still see your picture and make them ask to be your friend. When yo add this person you have no clue if the person in the profile looks like that or is even who they say they are, than the situation can turn serious in some cases, like with the article about MySpace when they girl killed herself over somebody see thought was an actual person or own age but was somebody else. The internet can be a good thing, but you still have to be aware of the dangers that are still out there.

Idea for website

The idea I am thinking about for my website is the Civil War. The reason for this is because I like the civil war, and know a little bit about it, and I think it will be an intersting website. On the website I will have the top 10 battles as well as information on the generals, uniform, maps and even some of the weapons that they used.
